Getting the Most from Your FirstQuote®

The Proto Labs® Firstcut® rapid CNC machining service is the fastest way to get CNC machined prototypes and low-volume production parts. The Firstcut service is a new end-to-end method of manufacture, and although it uses CNC machining to create of the product, there are distinct differences between Firstcut and traditional CNC machining services. As with any method of manufacture, there are limitations and tradeoffs between the designer’s intent and the ability of the Firstcut to produce any desired geometry.
This document describes the FirstQuote online quoting process. FirstQuote provides everything you need to know in order to make a buying decision without overwhelming you with too much information.
We have demo FirstQuotes posted online at: Sample FirstQuote (Simple) and Sample FirstQuote (with Threads). These samples are live and interactive. They work just like a real FirstQuote, except they can’t be used to place orders and changes can’t be saved. Many of the examples in this primer are based on these two demo FirstQuotes.
